About Me
Dr. Si-Liang (Katie) Peng is an ophthalmologist who has performed over 5,000 ocular procedures. She specializes in refractive surgery techniques such as LASIK, PRK, and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) procedures. Dr. Peng currently sees patients at the LASIK MD clinic in Kitchener-Waterloo, focusing on helping patients achieve vision correction through advanced surgical options.
Dr. Peng earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from McGill University in 2011, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency. She further pursued a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery, training at several institutions including Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital, Boston Laser, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. Her clinical experience includes performing cataract surgery and providing comprehensive ophthalmology services at hospitals such as St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake and St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener/Waterloo.
Her research has been published in journals like the British Journal of Ophthalmology and the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr. Peng has presented at professional conferences, including the Canadian Ophthalmology Society Conference and the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Annual Meeting, and received the Best Clinical Poster Award at McGill Research Day in 2015. She has also contributed to international humanitarian efforts, performing complex cornea transplants in the Dominican Republic, and joined CNIB’s Eye Van program in 2019 to deliver eye care services to underserved communities in northern Ontario.
