About Me
Dr. Shiming "Mimi" Luo is an ophthalmologist who cares for patients across Kentuckiana with a focus on cataracts, glaucoma, and comprehensive eye care. Originally from New York City, she studied operations research engineering at Cornell before earning her medical degree at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in affiliation with Case Western Reserve University, where her research training included funded work in proteomics and diabetic retinopathy. She completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati, was recognized for service during the COVID-19 pandemic, served as co-chief resident, and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha.
At Dr. Black’s Eye Associates, Dr. Luo offers cataract evaluation and surgery, refractive surgery, diabetic eye disease management, and glaucoma procedures. She partners closely with patients to preserve sight and match treatment to their goals. Outside the clinic, she loves the outdoors and exploring regional food—often cooking for friends and family.
