About Me
Dr. Sharon Solomon is a retina specialist and ophthalmologist at the Wilmer Eye Institute who focuses on medical and surgical treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, and retinal tears and detachments. She provides comprehensive care for a range of retinal conditions and sees adults and older adults.
As the Katharine M. Graham Professor of Ophthalmology, Dr. Solomon brings extensive expertise to her practice and has served as a principal investigator on numerous NIH-sponsored clinical trials. She is dedicated to clearly explaining diagnoses and treatment options to her patients, helping them understand their conditions and next steps.
Dr. Solomon completed her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by an ophthalmology residency at UCSF and a surgical retina fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute. She is a member of the Miller-Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence at Johns Hopkins and is board certified in ophthalmology.
