Dr. Shannon Beres

Dr. Shannon J. Beres is a neuro-ophthalmology specialist who cares for children and families at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. She brings the perspective of a child neurologist to eye and vision problems that involve the brain, offering careful evaluation and clear explanations so parents and patients understand what’s happening and why. Dr. Beres describes her style as family-centered and team-oriented—she spends extra time teaching, answering questions, and partnering on a plan that fits each child’s needs. Her clinical interests span conditions that affect the optic nerve and eye movements, as well as neurologic disorders with visual symptoms.
