Meet Dr. Landon Meekins
About Me
Dr. Landon Meekins is a neuro-ophthalmologist and surgical comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in eye disorders related to brain and nervous system conditions. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve, cranial nerve, orbital, and brain disorders. Dr. Meekins also provides general eye care, performing cataract surgery and managing common eye conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye.
A North Carolina native, Dr. Meekins completed his medical education at Duke University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine internship at Duke University Medical Center. He then pursued ophthalmology residency and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training at the Duke Eye Center, where he later served as faculty for two years, participating in research and clinical trials while educating ophthalmology residents and fellows.
Dr. Meekins believes in building strong patient relationships through individualized and compassionate care. He is committed to serving the eye care needs of the community and sees patients at the Reynolds Crossing location of Virginia Eye Institute.
