About Me

Dr. Capoor studied medicine and began her ophthalmology training in England before coming to the United States in 1994. She completed ophthalmic research and residency training at the University of Kentucky, followed by a fellowship in cornea and external diseases in Boston. She then returned to the University of Kentucky, where she provides advanced eye care.

Dr. Capoor believes patients should be well-informed about their conditions to actively participate in their treatment. She explains diagnoses and available choices thoroughly, helping patients make informed decisions about their care. Her clinical expertise includes cataract surgery, corneal transplants, pterygium surgery, and the management of corneal diseases and other anterior segment conditions.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Capoor serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. She formerly held the roles of Residency Program Director and chief of the VAMC Ophthalmology Service, contributing to the education of future ophthalmologists.
