Dr. Scott Peterson

Dr. Scott R. Peterson is an ophthalmologist with a focus on medical retina. He manages a wide spectrum of retinal conditions—from diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration to bothersome floaters—using modern laser treatments and pharmacologic therapies delivered with a calm, patient-first approach. He sees patients in Coon Rapids and Baxter and works closely with the broader care team to coordinate timely, effective treatment.

Dr. Peterson earned a BS in Neuroscience and an MBA at Brigham Young University, then completed his DO at Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He finished an ophthalmology residency through Michigan State University and subsequently completed a Medical Retina Fellowship at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School. He has presented research nationally and has authored work in peer-reviewed journals. Consistently recognized by peers and patients, he has been listed among Minnesota’s Top Doctors and Rising Stars.
