Dr. Scott Schultz

Dr. Scott K. Schultz is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and senior partner at Bishop Eye Center, where he has been providing exceptional eye care since 2013. He is the Lowcountry's only fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and also specializes in refractive cataract surgery. Dr. Schultz serves as the director of glaucoma care and surgery for the practice and is the Medical Director at the Outpatient Surgery Center of Hilton Head. He is also the past-president of the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Schultz has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and utilizes the latest technologies to provide the best outcomes for his patients. He is experienced with the CATALYS Precision Laser System, advanced technology lens implants, and minimally invasive glaucoma techniques. He also offers drop-free glaucoma management options, striving to provide compassionate and individualized care.

Dr. Schultz graduated cum laude from the University of Florida, where he was an All-American and co-captain of the men's swimming team. He earned his medical degree with AOA honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Roanoke Memorial Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt Eye Institute, where he served as chief resident and received the Excellence in Residency Award, Leadership Award, and the Medical Director’s Award. He then completed a glaucoma fellowship at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. Schultz is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, currently serving as the Regional Representative for Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and is also a member of the American Glaucoma Society and the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.
