Dr. Sarah Kuchar
About Me
Dr. Sarah D. Kuchar is an ophthalmologist who earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During medical school, she was honored with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
At Wills Eye Hospital, Dr. Kuchar received extensive training in managing a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, corneal diseases, eyelid and orbital disorders, neurologic eye conditions, and retinal pathologies such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. She further specialized through a glaucoma fellowship at the same institution, learning from leading experts in the field.
Dr. Kuchar specializes in glaucoma procedures and surgeries, such as glaucoma lasers and filtering surgery, aimed at reducing intraocular pressure and preventing optic nerve damage. She is also actively involved in research, with multiple publications and presentations at national conferences. Additionally, she has volunteered in a mission hospital in Africa and participates in the Wills International Research Elective to improve ophthalmologic care access worldwide.
