About Me
Dr. Sara E. Lally is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in ocular oncology at Wills Eye Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and is active with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and International Society of Ocular Oncology. Her clinical practice focuses on tumors affecting the eye and surrounding structures, including conjunctival, eyelid, and orbital cancers.
Dr. Lally has developed innovative surgical techniques to treat cancers near the eye while preserving sight. She works extensively with oculoplastics specialists to remove eyelid tumors and reconstruct the lid, and collaborates with other departments to manage orbital tumors, including those that have invaded the sinus or brain. She also cares for babies and young children with serious eye diseases and cancers.
Her research investigates novel treatments for conjunctival, eyelid, and orbital disease with the goal of preserving the eye. Dr. Lally has explored treatments for radiation effects on the eye and is experienced with movable ocular implants following enucleation to provide a natural appearance.
