Dr. Sang Tran

Dr. Sang N. Tran is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon offering modern medical and surgical eye care with a friendly, down-to-earth style. He enjoys helping patients protect and improve their vision using evidence-based treatments and the latest technology, from careful monitoring of chronic eye disease to advanced cataract surgery. A Maryland native, Dr. Tran earned his undergraduate degree with honors at Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also completed ophthalmology residency. During training he received the Richard M. Susel, MD ’66 Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Ophthalmology. He performs same-day ambulatory eye surgery at local centers and works closely with patients to choose lens and treatment options that fit their lifestyles. Patients appreciate his clear explanations, calm manner, and focus on long-term ocular health.
