About Me
Dr. S.K. Steven Houston III is a board-certified, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist at the Florida Retina Institute. He completed his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Dr. Houston then pursued advanced training through a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He joined the Florida Retina Institute in July 2015 and provides expert care for a range of retinal conditions.
With extensive research experience in surgical and medical retinal diseases, Dr. Houston has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and presentations. He contributes to the field as a manuscript reviewer for Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences and Retina, and as a writer for Retina Today and other publications. His dedication to advancing retinal care is further recognized by his Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists (FASRS) designation.
Dr. Houston enjoys traveling, adventure sports, skiing, running, and surfing. He is committed to providing personalized, patient-centered care at multiple locations throughout Central Florida.
