Dr. Samuel A. Whittier is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical eye care at Wolfe Eye Clinic. He welcomes patients for cataract evaluation and surgery as well as the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, corneal disease, and common retinal conditions. His approach emphasizes careful examination, clear communication, and treatment plans that match each patient’s goals and lifestyle.

Dr. Whittier earned his medical degree from the University of Utah and completed an Imaging Fellowship and associate research role before continuing training at the University of Wisconsin, where he also completed his internship within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He will see patients in the Ames and Ankeny clinics. Outside of work, he and his family enjoy the outdoors, sports, and live music.
