About Me
Saleema Kherani-Ali, MD, MPH, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides care at UT Health Austin's Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in the treatment of adult and pediatric uveitis, cataracts, and anterior segment disorders of the eye. Dr. Kherani-Ali also serves as an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Texas at Austin, integrating clinical practice with academic leadership.
Her medical education includes a degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and a master of public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology at Northwestern University and a postdoctoral research fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Kherani-Ali's research interests center on evaluating outcomes for various treatments of ocular inflammation. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented her work at national and international conferences, reflecting her dedication to advancing the field of eye care through evidence-based medicine.
