About Me
Dr. Robert Jeffries is a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing in Northwest Arkansas since 1997. He decided to pursue a career in medicine at age nine while in India, where he witnessed overwhelming physical needs during his childhood as the son of missionaries.
Dr. Jeffries earned his bachelor of science in chemical engineering at Princeton University in preparation for medical school. He completed his medical doctorate at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
With a wide range of skills, Dr. Jeffries offers medical and surgical care for a variety of diseases and conditions of the eye. He specializes in small-incision cataract surgery and offers advanced technology lens implants that reduce or eliminate the need for glasses. He is passionate about helping patients with age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma, and holds several patents related to intraocular pressure monitoring for glaucoma patients.
