About Me
Dr. Robert C. Ramsay is a retired ophthalmologist who dedicated his career to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of retinal diseases. After completing medical school at the University of Manitoba and ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota, he pursued a fellowship in retinal disease and surgery. Dr.
Ramsay joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota, where he served as a professor and led multiple NIH-funded research projects and national clinical trials focusing on diabetic retinopathy, complex retinal detachment, macular degeneration, and retinopathy of prematurity. He played a key role in developing a nationally recognized Retina Service at the university. In 1988, Dr. Ramsay entered private practice and co-founded Retina Consultants of Minnesota. He is now retired.
