Dr. Robert Mittra

Dr. Robert A. Mittra is an award-winning, internationally-recognized retina specialist and eye surgeon at Retina Consultants of Minnesota, where he has been providing care since 2000. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota, contributing to the education of future ophthalmologists.

Dr. Mittra graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Duke University Eye Center, where he received the Edward K. Isbey Award for excellence, followed by a clinical vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is an active member of the Macula Society, Retina Society, and American Society of Retina Specialists.
