About Me
Dr. Randall J. Olson is a Distinguished Professor emeritus at the University of Utah who specializes in external eye diseases and anterior segment disorders. He focuses on cataract surgery and intraocular lens (IOL) surgery, with extensive expertise in managing complications of cataract surgery. Dr. Olson treats a range of conditions affecting the front part of the eye, including corneal disorders and anterior segment issues.
Throughout his career, Dr. Olson has conducted research that has improved the design of intraocular lenses and surgical techniques for cataract removal. He has served as chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and CEO of the John A. Moran Eye Center, leading efforts to advance ophthalmic care. He continues to see patients and contribute to the field of ophthalmology through his clinical work and research.
