About Me
Dr. Ramana S. Moorthy is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical retina and uveitis. He serves as President and CEO of Associated Vitreoretinal and Uveitis Consultants (AVRUC) and holds the position of clinical professor of ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine, a role he has served since 1995. With over three decades of experience, Dr. Moorthy has authored more than 100 scientific publications and is actively involved in research and education in the field of retinal and uveitis diseases.
Dr. Moorthy's patient care philosophy centers on treating each individual as a member of his own family, with a mission to prevent blindness and improve vision. He holds hospital appointments at Indiana University Medical Center and is Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Services. Additionally, he serves as Vice Chair of the Ophthalmic Knowledge Base Outline Development committee for Uveitis, reflecting his expertise in intraocular inflammation.
