About Me

Dr. Priscilla Lao is an ophthalmologist with specialized training in neuro-ophthalmology and oculofacial plastic surgery. She cares for patients with complex problems affecting the optic nerve, eye movements, eyelids, tear ducts, and the orbit, and she works closely with neurology and ENT colleagues to provide coordinated, comprehensive care. As an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, she brings an academic, evidence-based approach to every visit and takes time to explain diagnoses and treatment options in clear, practical language.

Dr. Lao completed medical school and ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by a neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and orbital fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Her clinical interests include eyelid malpositions, ptosis repair, tear duct obstruction, orbital tumors and inflammation, optic neuritis, and double vision.
