About Me
Dr. Pooja Khator is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist at Coastal Eye Institute. She is recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Leading Glaucoma Doctors for 2025. Dr. Khator specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, including minimally invasive procedures and laser surgery, as well as advanced cataract surgery with the latest lens implant technology.
Dr. Khator earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, where she served as President and Editor-In-Chief of the medical school newspaper. She completed an internship in preliminary medicine at the University of Florida and then pursued her ophthalmology residency at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, where she was Chief Resident. She further specialized with a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, consistently ranked as the nation’s top eye hospital.
In 2006, Dr. Khator joined Coastal Eye Institute, where she continues to provide comprehensive eye care, including routine exams, and is dedicated to advancing patient care through innovation in glaucoma and cataract treatments.
