About Me
Dr. Patrick Burke is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who joined Hampton Roads Eye Associates in 2023. He provides exceptional eye care to patients of all ages, specializing in treatments for strabismus, cataracts, glaucoma, and blocked tear ducts. Originally from Connecticut, he spent 12 years in Boston where he dedicated three years to HIV research at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT, and Harvard.
His education includes a B.S. in Biology from Boston College and an M.D. with research honors from Tufts University. He completed his internship at Cambridge Health Alliance, ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center, and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. In 2020, Dr. Burke relocated to Arizona and practiced with his wife at ABC Children’s Eye Specialists until 2023.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Burke is pursuing a master’s degree in computer science at Arizona State University, focusing on machine learning to integrate technology with healthcare. He is active in the non-profit organization Little Eyes International and aims to provide high-quality, patient-centered ophthalmological care. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, long-distance running, hiking, and computer programming.
