About Me
Dr. Ovette Villavicencio, M.D., Ph.D., is a fellowship-trained cornea specialist who performs minimally invasive corneal transplantation and advanced technology cataract surgery, including femtosecond laser–assisted techniques. He also treats the full spectrum of corneal and external eye diseases, with particular expertise in Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy and keratoconus. His surgical approach emphasizes precision, rapid recovery, and long-term clarity.Dr. Villavicencio completed his undergraduate studies at Illinois Wesleyan University and earned both a Ph.D. in optical storage materials and his medical degree from the University of Arizona. He went on to an internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona, followed by a cornea, refractive, and external disease fellowship at the prestigious Price Vision Group in Indianapolis. Trained in modern partial-thickness techniques such as DMEK, he focuses on clear communication and individualized care so patients understand their options and feel confident at every step.
