About Me
Dr. Noor Amra is a Board Certified eye physician and surgeon by the American Board of Ophthalmology, practicing in Southern California. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, graduating high school at the top of her class at age 16. Dr. Amra received her undergraduate degree with highest honors in molecular, cell and developmental biology from the University of California, where she also earned the prestigious full-tuition Regents scholarship, the highest award in the UC system.
Dr. Amra earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, where she discovered her love for Ophthalmology and performed cutting-edge retinal research with world-renowned specialists. She completed her general surgery internship and Ophthalmology residency training at Rush University Medical Center, a prestigious and competitive program known for high surgical volume and clinical pathology. Described as a gifted surgeon, she served as Chief Resident. She has since relocated back to Southern California and joined the Advanced Eye Medical Group in Mission Viejo.
Her clinical interests include the full spectrum of eye surgery, including cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and glaucoma management. She also offers noninvasive cosmetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, and laser treatments. Dr. Amra is fluent in both Spanish and Arabic. She is active on social media as eyegirlMD, sharing snapshots from her personal and professional life with her followers, with a goal of empowering women through education.
