About Me
Dr. Niranjan Manoharan is a vitreoretinal surgeon and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology who specializes in both medical and surgical care of retinal disease. He strives to make complex topics understandable, using imaging and clear visuals to help patients see what he sees and choose the plan that best matches their needs. His clinical interests span diabetic and vascular retinal disease, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and complex vitreoretinal surgery.Dr. Manoharan earned his MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, and pursued fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute. He also holds a BS from the University of California, San Diego. His scholarly work includes publications on age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, imaging biomarkers, and surgical outcomes, and he has received teaching and service recognitions at both UCLA and the University of Colorado.
