Dr. Nicholas Butler

Dr. Nicholas Butler is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a member of the Uveitis Service at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases, including those caused by systemic inflammatory conditions and infections.

Dr. Butler has particular expertise in treating inflammatory macular edema with systemic therapies, especially when local corticosteroids are not effective or recommended. His clinical interests include infectious uveitis, uveitic masquerade syndromes, and the treatment of inflammatory macular edema with systemic interferon-alpha.

Dr. Butler is a lecturer on ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and sees patients at the Longwood location in Boston.
