About Me
Dr. Nancy M. Benegas is a pediatric ophthalmologist at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville, Tennessee. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions affecting children, including strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), and blocked tear ducts. She also provides surgical care for conditions such as retinopathy of prematurity and performs strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, and nasolacrimal procedures.
As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Benegas combines her clinical practice with teaching. She completed her medical degree at the University of Minnesota and went on to complete a residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital.
