Dr. Monika Malecha

Dr. Monika Malecha is an ophthalmologist who diagnoses and treats medical and surgical eye conditions in patients of all ages. She performs cataract surgery with both standard and premium lens implants on Maui, and as the only full-time fellowship trained corneal specialist on the island, she also performs pterygium surgery and other corneal procedures.

Dr. Malecha brings over 25 years of ophthalmology experience, including 15 years in private practice in Portland, Oregon before joining EyeSight Hawaii on Maui in November 2021. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the University of Minnesota. She has authored 11 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
