About Me
Dr. Mohammed Shan Uddin is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained neurologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology and an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. He provides comprehensive care for vision disorders such as optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, hereditary optic nerve disorders, eye movement disorders, double vision, and thyroid eye disease. Dr. Uddin also treats vision abnormalities related to stroke, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and intracranial hypertension, using advanced neuro-ophthalmological equipment.
His practice extends to general neurological conditions including headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, neuropathy, dementia, carpal tunnel syndrome, essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease, and seizures. Dr. Uddin’s care philosophy emphasizes a collaborative, patient-centered approach, working with specialists to develop holistic treatment plans and empowering patients through education and shared decision-making.
He completed his Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College and Neurology Residency at Palmetto General Hospital. Dr. Uddin is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
