About Me
Dr. Michael Scott Floyd is a pediatric ophthalmologist dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care for children. He chose this specialty because of its fascinating nature and the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with patients and their families. Dr. Floyd enjoys working with advanced technologies and devices, and performing procedures that can significantly improve a child's vision. Children are generally happy and fun to work with, and he finds joy in engaging with them and earning their trust during examinations.
A personal experience with his son's eye condition deeply motivates Dr. Floyd. His son was legally blind in one eye, but with glasses and a year of full-time eye patching, he now sees perfectly. This firsthand witness to the power of treatment fuels Dr. Floyd's commitment to helping other children achieve better sight. He is actively involved in his community, having served on advisory committees for vision screening in St. Paul and Minneapolis and contributing to the 2015 MDH vision screening guidelines.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Floyd dedicates time to the Scouts of America, volunteering in leadership roles and providing instruction for merit badges. He enjoys spending free time with his family, engaging in activities such as cycling, skiing, camping, hiking, cooking, fishing, and building with Legos.
