About Me
Dr. Michael L. McClintock Jr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in retina care, including vitreoretinal medicine and surgery. He provides comprehensive management of retinal conditions, utilizing advanced surgical techniques and medical therapies to preserve and restore vision. Dr. McClintock's practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous, with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. McClintock grew up in a small Kentucky town, exposed early to the field of ophthalmology through his father's practice. He graduated first in his class at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he received the Dean's Award for Scholarship. He completed an internship at Carilion Clinic Virginia Tech School of Medicine, residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine, and a fellowship at Rush University with Illinois Retina Associates. Dr. McClintock emphasizes honest communication and patient education, integrating each patient's needs and desires into an individualized treatment plan. Outside the office, he enjoys building computers, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
