About Me
Dr. Michael B. Gorin is a retina specialist and ophthalmic geneticist at the UCLA Doris Stein Eye Research Center and Jules Stein Eye Institute. He holds the Harold and Pauline Price Chair in Ophthalmology and serves as chief of the Retinal Disorders and Ophthalmic Genetics Division.
Dr. Gorin's clinical expertise focuses on inherited retinal disorders such as age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, and Stargardt disease. He also treats autoimmune retinopathies, drug-induced retinal toxicity, and ocular pain and photophobia. His research in molecular genetics has contributed to the identification of genetic regions linked to macular degeneration.
In his practice, Dr. Gorin provides comprehensive care for patients with retinal diseases and conducts research to advance understanding of hereditary eye disorders. He is also involved in training future ophthalmologists.
