About Me
Dr. Michael C. Wu is an ophthalmologist who cares for patients with corneal diseases and cataracts. He performs cataract surgery and corneal surgeries. He believes in listening to patients and educating them with the best medical knowledge to make shared decisions about their treatment goals. Dr. Wu's subspecialties within ophthalmology are in corneal surgeries and diseases and cataract surgery.
Dr. Wu grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Princeton University. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2024, he served as an associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he was on the full-time faculty for 10 years. He cared for patients at the University of Washington Eye Institute, University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and the VA Puget Sound-Seattle. During that time, he taught cataract and corneal surgeries to ophthalmology residents and directed medical student education for the UW Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wu joined Kaiser Permanente because of the organization's ability to deliver excellent clinical care through collaboration between specialists and primary care physicians. He enjoys the privilege of helping patients improve their vision and treats each patient as he would a close family member.
