About Me
Dr. Melinda Chang is a dual-fellowship–trained pediatric ophthalmologist and neuro-ophthalmologist who cares for children with neurologic and neuro-developmental conditions affecting vision. She combines compassionate, family-centered communication with advanced diagnostics and surgical expertise to help each child see and function at their best. Her clinical approach emphasizes clear education, coordinated care with pediatric specialists, and individualized treatment plans that support success at home and school.Dr. Chang earned her medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, completed ophthalmology residency and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and then trained in neuro-ophthalmology at the combined Stein Eye Institute–Doheny Eye Institute program. As an assistant professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, she leads a translational research program focused on cortical visual impairment, eye-tracking methods, and innovations in strabismus surgery. She welcomes referrals for complex pediatric neuro-ophthalmic disorders as well as general pediatric eye concerns.
