Dr. Maxwell Harley

Dr. Heather Bodiford Bartels is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon at Monadnock Community Hospital’s Medical Eye Center in Peterborough, New Hampshire. She provides full-spectrum eye care with a focus on cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens options, including astigmatism- and presbyopia-correcting lenses to help reduce dependence on glasses. Dr. Bartels also offers laser treatments and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and she is dedicated to building strong doctor–patient relationships that support prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment of eye disease. Originally from Arkansas, Dr. Bartels completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas and earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She went on to a transitional year internship in Virginia and then an ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech, where she received the Outstanding Grand Rounds Award and served as chief resident. After beginning her career in private practice in Arkansas, she chose to relocate to New Hampshire. She is active in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Women in Ophthalmology, and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and exploring New England.

Dr. Sabrina K. Khalil is an ophthalmologist dedicated to protecting and restoring sight with thoughtful, individualized care. She believes great outcomes begin with understanding each person’s goals and tailoring a plan that fits their life. Detail-oriented by nature, she enjoys the precise anatomy of the eye and the way ocular findings can reflect whole-body health. She’s especially energized by new technologies that make care safer, more comfortable, and more effective for patients. Dr. Khalil earned her MD at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, completed an internal medicine internship, and finished ophthalmology residency training at USF. Her areas of focus include general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, laser procedures, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She is honored to care for the Dartmouth Health and Mt. Ascutney communities and strives to treat every patient as she would a friend or family member.
