About Me
Dr. Matthew W. Hollar is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides medical and surgical care for a wide range of eye conditions. He joined North Georgia Eye Clinic in 2016 and focuses on helping patients protect vision, stay comfortable, and understand their options for ongoing eye health.
Dr. Hollar completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University and earned his M.D. from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also devoted two full-time years to research at the Duke Eye Center studying age-related eye diseases. He then completed ophthalmology residency training at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute and Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Dr. Hollar has published on topics that include macular degeneration, ocular oncology, infections of the eye, and congenital ophthalmic disease. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and his clinical interests include dry eye syndrome, medical management of glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and cataract surgery.
