About Me
Dr. Matthew Oltmanns is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist with over two decades of experience in eye care. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for retinal conditions, utilizing the most current diagnostic tools and surgical techniques to help patients preserve and restore their vision.
Dr. Oltmanns completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and then pursued advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery. He currently serves as the Fellowship Program Director for the RSA–UAB Retina Fellowship, where he mentors and trains the next generation of retina specialists. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in respected medical journals, contributing to clinical research and innovation in retinal disease management.
Dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, Dr. Oltmanns focuses on helping patients with serious vision problems. He is committed to advancing the field of ophthalmology through both clinical practice and educational leadership.
