Meet Dr. Matthew Willett
About Me
Dr. Matthew Willett is a leading cataract surgeon and innovator in ophthalmology in Akron. He utilizes cutting-edge technology and specializes in minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries, which can be paired with cataract removal or performed independently. Dr. Willett was one of the first surgeons in the area to perform iStent surgery, a microscopic procedure that allows for the treatment of some types of glaucoma during cataract surgery.
As a fellowship-trained glaucoma surgeon, Dr. Willett has been selected to participate in several FDA clinical trials and has contributed numerous articles to scientific and medical journals. He currently serves as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Willett enjoys spending time with his two children, woodworking, hiking, weightlifting, and fishing. He resides in Akron.
