About Me
Dr. Matthew Carnahan is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with Kaiser Permanente in Southern California. He earned his medical degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Carnahan is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2018.
In his practice, Dr. Carnahan partners with patients to manage a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinal issues, and dry eyes. He is committed to helping patients understand their eye conditions and optimize their visual potential. Dr. Carnahan also participates in research and presents at national ophthalmology meetings, staying at the forefront of eye care.
Outside of work, Dr. Carnahan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, exploring Southern California and traveling when possible.
