Dr. Mark Prendes

Dr. Mark Prendes is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. A native of the greater Cleveland area, he recently joined the practice after serving for five years at the University Hospitals Eye Institute, where he was the Director of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Service, providing care to the Greater Cleveland and surrounding communities.

Dr. Prendes earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Louisville, accredited by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS). He is an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Case Western University School of Medicine, where he instructs on surgical anatomy of the head and neck and trains resident surgeons and medical students. He is actively engaged in research, having published numerous peer-reviewed articles, presented at national meetings, and authored a book chapter on eyelid reconstruction.

His clinical expertise includes procedures such as upper and lower eyelid surgery, ptosis repair, brow lifts, treatment of tearing problems, skin cancer removal on the face and neck, cosmetic wart and mole removal, and ocular and facial reconstruction. Dr. Prendes enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He is currently accepting new patients at multiple locations including Independence, Youngstown, Howland, and Sandusky.
