About Me
Dr. Marcus Muallem is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of cataracts, corneal conditions, and glaucoma. With advanced training in both glaucoma and external corneal disease, Dr. Muallem offers comprehensive care for patients with these complex eye conditions.
Dr. Muallem completed his medical degree at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and further advanced his expertise with a Master of Ophthalmology from Tel Aviv University. He then pursued two prestigious fellowships at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, one in glaucoma and another in external corneal disease, honing his skills in these subspecialty areas.
Dr. Muallem is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Israel Ophthalmology Society, and the Israel Society for Eye & Vision Research. He is also conversant in Arabic and Hebrew, which allows him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
