About Me
Dr. Marc Levy is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology and orbital surgery. He has been with the Sarasota Retina Institute since 1986 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. His expertise includes the diagnosis and surgical management of complex conditions affecting the optic nerve and the eye socket.
Dr. Levy completed his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine and his ophthalmology residency at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital. He further advanced his training through fellowships in neuro-ophthalmology and orbital surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and Washington University School of Medicine. He is actively involved in multicenter research studies on retina and optic nerve diseases and holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology.
In his practice, Dr. Levy provides care for patients with a range of neuro-ophthalmic and orbital disorders. He performed the first Implantable Miniature Telescope procedure in Florida for macular degeneration and serves as a team physician ophthalmologist for the Tampa Bay Rays.
