About Me

Dr. Lucian Szmyd is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has provided comprehensive eye care at Eyesight Ophthalmic Services in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, since 1986. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed a residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, followed by a clinical research fellowship in ophthalmology at Tufts-New England Medical Center.

He also holds a master's degree in epidemiology from Harvard University. Dr. Szmyd serves as a Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine and is affiliated with Portsmouth Regional Hospital and Exeter Hospital. Through his ongoing research and decades of clinical practice, he has developed expertise in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disease, and macular degeneration.
