About Me
Dr. Leanne Stunkel is a neuro-ophthalmologist who evaluates and treats vision problems related to the brain, optic nerve, and eye movement systems. She helps patients understand symptoms such as blurred or double vision, vision loss, abnormal pupil responses, and visual changes connected to neurologic disease, and she coordinates care with other specialists when needed.
Her clinical work includes diagnosing and managing optic nerve disorders such as optic neuritis, optic atrophy, and ischemic optic neuropathy, as well as conditions like idiopathic intracranial hypertension and ocular myasthenia gravis. She also evaluates nystagmus and complex visual symptoms that may be associated with stroke, tumors, trauma, dementia, or autoimmune disease.
Dr. Stunkel completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Emory Eye Center, a neurology residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and earned her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College.
