About Me
Dr. Kun Ding is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who cares for patients with the full spectrum of glaucoma, from early disease to complex, advanced cases. He offers minimally invasive glaucoma surgery alongside traditional procedures and laser treatments, and also performs cataract surgery when removing a cloudy lens can help optimize vision and eye pressure control. Patients appreciate his thoughtful explanations and calm, collaborative approach to building a plan that fits their goals and lifestyle.
Originally from northern China, Dr. Ding earned his medical degree at Shandong First Medical University and completed a Ph.D. in Ophthalmology at Sun Yat-sen University. He pursued postdoctoral research at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins focused on ocular gene therapy and mechanisms of ocular neovascularization, with work published in leading journals. He completed ophthalmology residency in New York at BronxCare Health System (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) and advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the Casey Eye Institute, OHSU, and Devers Eye Institute. Outside clinic, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest and foraging for mushrooms.
