Dr. Kiper Nelson

Dr. Kiper Nelson is a refractive cataract surgeon at Southern Eye Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Wake Forest Eye Center and a fellowship in cataract and lens implant surgery and anterior segment surgery at Southern Eye Center. Dr. Nelson specializes in cataract and lens implant surgery, vision correction procedures including LASIK and lens-based refractive surgery, and medical and surgical glaucoma treatment, offering the latest Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS).

Dr. Nelson is known for using advanced technology to help patients achieve optimal visual outcomes. He was the first eye surgeon in Mississippi to implant the Light Adjustable Lens, a customizable lens implant, and the first to perform blade-free, laser-based cataract procedures in the state. He also established the first stand-alone LASIK center in the Pine Belt region and offers one-visit, blade-free LASIK with the Alcon Wave Light System.
