About Me
Dr. Kimberly Drenser is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Associated Retinal Consultants, serving patients in southeastern Michigan. She specializes in translating laboratory science into practical treatments for retinal diseases, bringing a research-driven approach to patient care.
Dr. Drenser serves as Director of the Pediatric Retinal Disease Molecular Genetics Laboratory on the Royal Oak campus, where she focuses on the genetic basis of retinal conditions in children. She earned her medical degree and a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics & Microbiology from the University of Florida, completed her residency at UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Associated Retinal Consultants.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Drenser has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented at national and international ophthalmology meetings. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
