About Me
Dr. Kevin Firl is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus surgeon who provides gentle, thorough care for patients of all ages. He treats amblyopia and a wide range of eye misalignment disorders, offers prism and non-surgical therapies when appropriate, and performs eye-muscle surgery to restore alignment and relieve symptoms like eyestrain or poor depth perception. He also manages common pediatric eye concerns such as blocked tear ducts and refractive errors, coordinating closely with families to support visual development.
Dr. Firl completed ophthalmology residency at The George Washington University, where he served as chief resident and received the Zimmerman Award for excellence in patient care. He then pursued fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. He earned his MD at the University of Minnesota, an MS in Epidemiology at Georgetown University, and studied Neuroscience at Brigham Young University.
