About Me
Dr. Keith Thompson is an internationally recognized ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon with extensive experience in corneal and anterior segment surgery. He brings decades of expertise from his tenure as a cornea faculty member at the Emory Eye Center, where he also served as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Thompson co-founded and led the Emory Vision Center, one of the first laser vision centers of excellence in the United States.
His clinical background includes a research fellowship studying corneal healing following excimer laser surgery and biomaterials for synthetic corneal lenses. Dr. Thompson has published extensively on ophthalmic technologies and holds multiple patents in the field. He remains actively involved in health technology innovation, recently co-founding an AI-virtual care platform that enables comprehensive eye exams to be delivered remotely to patients in primary care clinics.
