About Me
Dr. David Paine is a board-certified ophthalmologist who joined the Ophthalmology Section of the VA Medical Center in 2011. He specializes in cornea, refractive, external disease, and cataract surgery. His practice is dedicated to the medical and surgical management of corneal conditions, utilizing modern corneal transplantation techniques and performing both routine and complex cataract procedures.
Dr. Paine has a special interest in teaching Emory University ophthalmology residents cataract surgery and the management of corneal disease. He holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine and is actively involved in training the next generation of eye surgeons. His approach combines advanced surgical skill with a focus on comprehensive patient care for corneal and anterior segment conditions.
As a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Paine maintains active membership in professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cornea Society. His clinical work and teaching reflect a commitment to advancing the field of cornea and external disease management through both patient care and medical education.
